Training Course on Green Prevention and Control Technology for Crop Diseases and Pests

11 Feb.,2025

In order to continuously promote the promotion and application of key technologies for green prevention and control of crop diseases and pests, and serve the green development of agriculture, the National Agricultural Technology Center held a training course on green prevention and control of crop diseases and pests in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from May 13th to 15th. The training class organized an observation of the green prevention and control of tomato and rice pests and diseases in Binyang County, Nanning City. Special training was conducted on green prevention and control technologies for rice and tomato, and discussions and exchanges were held on green prevention and control measures for crop pests and diseases such as rice and tomato.
The training class pointed out that the national plant protection system has implemented the requirements of the "Grains from Insects" action to ensure a bountiful harvest, focusing on the key periods of crop disease and pest prevention and control, and vigorously demonstrating and promoting green prevention and control technologies such as physical and chemical induction and control, immune induction and resistance, and natural enemy protection and utilization. It has integrated and promoted multiple sets of green prevention and control technology models, such as the "Insect Control Network+" for tomato leafminer, rice borer, wheat stripe rust, and cowpea disease and pest. In 2023, the green prevention and control area of major crop diseases and pests in China reached 1.27 billion acres, with a green prevention and control coverage rate of 54.1%. The contribution rate of plant protection for disease and pest prevention and control of the three major grain crops in China was 30.59%, consolidating the foundation for abundant grain and oil harvests and promoting green agricultural development.
The training class emphasizes the need to fully understand the new requirements and challenges faced by current pest and disease prevention and control work, and solidly carry out green prevention and control of major pests and diseases. Strengthen innovation in green prevention and control technology, organize the selection and release of green prevention and control technology models, carry out evaluation of the effectiveness of green prevention and control inputs, and evaluate the coverage rate of green prevention and control. Strengthen the maturation of key technologies for green prevention and control, pay close attention to a large number of national key research and development projects, such as physical disinfection and sterilization of crop diseases and pests, natural enemy insects, and immune induced resistance technology, and promote the application of technology maturation. Strengthening the integration of green prevention and control technologies, focusing on the improvement of large-scale grain yield and the quality and safety of agricultural products, integrating and supporting different technical models throughout the entire crop growth period, and improving the efficiency of prevention and control. Strengthen the promotion and training of green prevention and control, organize multi-level and various forms of technical training, improve the green prevention and control concept of producers and operators, promote mature green prevention and control technologies such as insect sex pheromone mating interference.
