Once you’ve made it you can shape your butter into different sized blocks depending on your needs – a single family-sized block or two small blocks, one for eating and one for freezing or giving away. You can also make four classic sticks of butter for easy measuring in cooking. Butter Paddles are great tools for helping press and shape butter without getting it warm. Here is our easy (origami) guide to wrapping a 1 lb (500 g) block of butter.
Once you’ve shaped and wrapped your butter, date it and store in the refrigerator or freezer.
Baking paper stops the butter absorbing strong flavors from other foods.
